Support Telephone for Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Pilot (STEPP) Program
Support Telephone for Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain (STEPP) Program
The STEPP Program is a FREE, nurse-led telehealth service providing evidence-based education, support, and care coordination for people living with endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain across Western Australia.
Originally developed as a pilot program, STEPP has evolved to support anyone living with endometriosis or pelvic pain — not just those newly diagnosed. No referral is required, and individuals can self-refer directly to access the program.
Through STEPP, participants are connected with a trained nurse educator who provides personalised support tailored to their needs. This includes education on endometriosis and pelvic pain, guidance on treatment options and next steps, and the development of individualised care plans. The program also supports people to navigate and access appropriate services across Western Australia, working alongside GPs, gynaecologists, allied health professionals, and community supports as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
STEPP is designed to improve access to care for all Western Australians, particularly those living in regional and remote areas, those unable to attend in-person services, or those facing financial or systemic barriers to care.
Our nurse educators are trained in endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain management, with additional training in holistic care, Mental Health First Aid, LGBTQIA+ inclusive practice, and Aboriginal health to ensure care is safe, inclusive, and person-centred.
